In general usage today, pedagogy simply refers to the art and science of teaching. However, some argue that the terms is specific to the art and science of teaching children, compared to adults. Since this is one of the older terms used in reference to teaching, there are many new words used to distinguish from traditional notions of teaching and learning. These include terms like andragogy (adult learning), heutagogy (self-determined learning), paragogy (peer-to-peer learning), and Ubuntugogy (and African education framework).
